Beto Gómez
• Origins and Birth: He was born on March 20, 2000, in Cabo de la Vela, La Guajira, Colombia. He is considered the world's first and only professional Wayuu kitesurfer.
• Beginnings: He first encountered kitesurfing at age seven while watching visitors on his community's beaches and began practicing the sport formally between 2009 and 2011.
• Achievements and Impact: He distinguished himself in international competitions such as Kitefest Argentina and Red Bull Big Air events (including at Cuesta del Viento), sponsored by brands like Duotone Kiteboarding. His success transformed the economic and tourism landscape of his community in La Guajira.
